The composition must be designed before generation, and not saved crop after
One vertical frame rarely turns equally well into an avatar, post, story and wide banner. Without promotion around the main object, the platform will cut off hands, products or semantic backgrounds.
Each aspect ratio creates its own gaze movement.
Suitable for an avatar and a compact card. The edges are barely involved.
Gives height, but leaves enough context for the tape.
You need a promotion at the top and bottom for the interface and possible text.
A person occupies a smaller part of the frame, but there is a horizontal context.
Divide the frame into a mandatory core and consumable background
Without a buffer, even the exact crop looks cramped. For a person, leave air overhead and around their elbows; for a product, space under the shadow and visual direction of the composition.
Protect not the rectangle, but the semantic construction
Create a wide wizard, then make meaningful versions
- Master.
Take or generate a frame with promotion on all sides.
- Nucleus
Note the elements that must be included in each format.
- Crops.
Collect 1:1, 4:5, 9:16 and 16:9 independently without stretching the object.
- Completion
Use outpainting only where the background is really lacking.
For generationCreate a vertical portrait with a margin of surroundings: the whole person inside the central 60% of the frame, hands and hair do not touch the edges, on top and sides a calm background for subsequent formats. Don't add text.
See the final size, not just the big master.
A small detail can be noticed in the editor and disappear after publication, check whether the main object remains readable without magnification or conflicts with the interface of the site.
Sometimes one master is not enough.
A large avatar and a wide banner advertising require different scales of the person. If a universal frame makes an object too small in one format, create a separate composition, retaining style, clothing and light.
A single series is not a single file at all costs; it's consistent versions in which the visual role of an object corresponds to the medium.
A good master survives a few crops without losing meaning.
It doesn't have to be a ready-made publication, but its job is to preserve an important core and give each site enough space for its own format.
