The similarity is not only on the face.
An earring, mole, tattoo or familiar ring can take up several dozen pixels, but it is on them that a person notices the substitution. When styling, the model often perceives such signs as decor: simplifies the shape, transfers to the other side or replaces with a more “suitable” detail.
Make a passport of something you can’t invent.
Before editing, write out not everything you see in the frame, but only signs that are important for recognizability or meaning of the photo. A good passport is short: location, shape, color and connection to the body. For example, "a small triangular earring in your left ear," "thin tattoo-branch on the inside of your right wrist."
Pairs of earring, rings, piercing, pendant and watch.
Moles, freckles and scars and birthmarks.
Drawing, turning, scale and body part.
Glasses, a commemorative ring or a familiar accessory.
The purpose of a passport is not to make the model copy every pixel, it separates the mandatory from the free: background and clothing can be changed, and marked signs must remain in place.
The more the scene changes, the easier it is to lose a small detail.
| Operation. | Risk. | Why? | What to fix |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light and colour | low | Geometry hardly changes. | Metal Color and Tattoo Contrast |
| Replacement of clothing | moderate | Change the edges of the neck, hands and tissue | Coulomb, watch, signs on the skin |
| New posture. | high-rise | The model builds the body again. | Party, position and orientation |
| Strong stylization | high-rise | Small things become an element of style. | The silhouette of the sign and its meaning |
Particularly unreliable are parts that are partially covered by hair or clothing, and if the source does not show the whole shape, the model doesn't restore the truth; it chooses a plausible version.
Add a large piece only when you really need it.
For normal color correction, a basic frame is enough. An additional reference is useful if the tattoo is small, the earring is covered with hair or the accessory must remain of an exact shape. The fragment should answer one question and not argue with the main photo for face, pose or lighting.
Describe the change separately from protected features
First, name a single action: change the background, change clothes or style a portrait. Next sentence list the signs that should be preserved. The wording "do not change anything" is too broad; the verifiable instruction names specific objects and their position.
Action.Replace the background with a quiet studio with soft side lights.ProtectionKeep your face shape, triangular earring on the left, a mole on your right cheek and a tattoo at the inside of the right wrist. The borderDo not add new jewelry or signs on your skin.
Check the location first, then the beauty.
- Side. The earring, scar or tattoo did not mirror.
- Number. There was no second mole, earring or extra ring.
- Uniform. The symbol did not turn into a similar, but different pattern.
- Body connection. The decoration is not hanging in the air, the strap runs around the wrist.
- Common shot. The detail didn't get too big just for the sake of visibility.
If an important part is corrupted, correct it from the last correct version. A chain of local edits on top of the already changed feature gradually fixes the error.
When accuracy is best provided by conventional retouching
If the tattoo contains fine text, the decoration is a product or a mole is important for medical observation, generative reconstruction is not suitable as a source of accurate information. Create a scene with AI, and transfer the critical detail from the source in controlled editing.
Personal detail should be part of the task, not hope
A short passport, one clear reference and a two-scale test are noticeably more reliable than the general "keep similarity" requirement. The more important a trait is, the sooner it needs to be named.
