“Make it natural” doesn’t describe an action: it describes a feeling.

For one person, naturalness means pores and wrinkles; for another, soft daylight, a calm posture or an ordinary room instead of a studio. The model chooses one interpretation itself if the request does not translate the impression into observable signs.

Finish the sentence, "I understand that the photo is artificial because..."

The answer should indicate a visible detail: "Because the skin has no texture," "because your face is lit on the right and the window is on your left," and "the background is blurred along the edge of your hair." If the sequel remains "just felt," compare it to a source and a live photo of a similar scene.

Don't list ten defects at once. Choose the one that is visible first in the size of the publication, and fixing it will have a greater effect than polishing obscure details as you zoom in.

03 · Translation

Replace the value word with action and limitation

Instead of "make your face natural," use: "Reduce the retouch effect, preserve pores, age and local skin tones; don't change facial features." instead of" make a natural background":" Replace the background with an ordinary bright room with mild daylight and moderate depth of field; save the person and direction of light.

04 · Examples

One problem, one precise wording

  • The skin looks waxy.Return fine texture and dissimilar local color without increasing sharpness.
  • The smile seems alien.Preserve the shape of the lips and teeth, reduce the severity of a smile.
  • The man is inserted into the scene.Coordinate the direction of light, contact shadow and edge sharpness.
  • It's too publicity.Remove the staging shine, leave a calm daylight and household background.
  • The pose looks tough.Soften shoulders and hands without changing face, clothing or composition.
05 · Control

Check the corrected sign, not your overall mood.

If you were asked to return the texture of your skin, compare your forehead and cheeks and the area around your eyes -- if you've been fixing light -- nose, chin, background and shadow -- overall attractiveness can grow even if the problem is left behind; so there must be a criterion before generation.

Quick test.

Look at the picture for two seconds.

Reduce the result to a future size, and mark the first part that produces processing. Don't analyze the entire image. It is this detail that becomes the target of the next edit; other requirements temporarily remain preservations.

Outcome

Naturality becomes controllable when it can be pointed with a finger.

Find the first synthetic signal, turn it into action and fix important details. One particular trait gives a model more value than five repetitions of the word "realistic."
